Not the Unthinkable, But What We Didn't Think Of: Preparing and Recovering from Disaster

Chuck Patch is Director of Systems for The Historic New Orleans Collection, a museum, research library and manuscripts collection in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he oversees the implementation of institutional information systems and a variety of imaging and database projects. He is a past president and board member of the Museum Computer Network and is presently a member of the joint Committee on Libraries, Archives and Museums, sponsored by the ALA, SAA and AAM. His current projects include the digitization of 13,000 objects from the Historic New Orleans Collection as part of "Louisiana Gumbo," an IMLS funded project to create a state-wide repository of cultural materials for the teaching of Louisiana history and The Vieux Carré Online Digital Survey, a grant-funded project to provide a GIS Interface to property information and imagery associated with the French Quarter.
