Genealogical Librarianship: Assisting Family Historians

Timothy Salls has been the Archivist of the New England Historic Genealogical Society since 2000, and previously worked as supervisor of the Society's Circulating Library. He manages the Society's extensive collection of manuscripts and the Society archives. He has contributed regularly to the Society magazine, New England Ancestors , and has lectured on numerous occasions on genealogy and manuscripts. He holds a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science with an archives concentration from Simmons College.
   
Judith Lucey is the Assistant Archivist and has worked as a genealogical reference librarian at the New England Historic Genealogical Society, during which she received numerous patron citations for her extraordinary service. She has lectured and written about various genealogical topics. She recently obtained a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons College.
   
With 18 years experience at the New England Historic Genealogical Society, Marie Daly has been the Director of the Research Library since 2004, and held previous positions as the Director of Library Resources and the Chief Financial Officer. She was the founding president of an Irish genealogical organization, and has frequently written articles and presented lectures in person and online. She has a Masters Degree in Public Health from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education at Northeastern University.
   
As the Online Genealogist for the website NewEnglandAncestors.org, David Lambert brings unique experience to the classroom. He adds to his online expertise with his previous background as genealogical reference librarian at the New England Historic Genealogical Society. In addition to lecturing and writing extensively about researching family histories on the web, he is also a historian for the town of Stoughton and the Massachuset-Punkapoag Native American people. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Northeastern University.
