Seth is an indexing and information architecture consultant, specializing in the construction of navigable information hierarchies, knowledge retrieval systems, and indexes. He is an industry leader in editorial indexing, taxonomy, and search and database keywording. He teaches a comprehensive remote-learning class on indexing through Middlesex Community College and speaks and numerous conferences and companies. He is past-president of the American Society for Indexing (ASI) and continues to be involved in professional development and indexer advocacy.

Seth is a managing partner of Potomac Indexing (www.potomacindexing.com), an indexing firm with over 100 clients and dozens of professional indexers. He is a senior taxonomy and indexing consultant with Earley & Associates (www.earley.com), and information management company with a specialty in taxonomy, and a user experience consultant with Wilde Interactive (www.wildeinteractive.com), a group of experienced strategists and technology experts committed to developing online solutions with measurable results. Past positions have include Integration Manager at Terra Lycos (www.lycos.com) and Senior Indexer at O’Reilly & Associates (www.oreilly.com), and he has consulted with the likes of the United Nations Library, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and numerous corporations like Mercedes-Benz, PeopleSoft, Caterpillar, Mattel, Comverse (Israel), and Motorola. .
