Amelia Kassel is President of MarketingBase, specializing in industry, company and competitive and market intelligence research since 1982. Amelia holds a Master's Degree in Library Science (1971, UCLA) and combines expertise in Internet research and fee-based databases with knowledge of business and marketing strategies.

Amelia taught at the University of California Berkeley Extension for 15 years, was a lecturer at San José State University School of Library and Information Science (1992-1996), and now teaches distance education at San José State University with courses in Online and Advanced Online Searching, Competitive Intelligence Research and New and Alternative Careers for Librarians and Information Professionals. As a recognized author and international speaker, she conducts seminars for associations and conferences and gives workshops on-site for companies and organizations. Her successful email-based Mentor Program is tailored for independent information professionals.

Amelia is a recipient of AIIP's Sue Rugge Memorial Award and the Gale Group Writing Award. She authored The Super Searchers on Wall Street and has written many articles for Searcher Magazine, and other information industry publications.
